Depression. Anxiety. Mental illness. Suicide. These are not topics we typically talk about openly. Food for Thought hopes to change that. Our vision is to bring people together in an annual event with food + music + speakers to change the conversation on mental health while raising funds for local suicide prevention and bereavement programs.
Things will look a little different this year… but the show must go on! During National Mental Health Awareness Week, this October, we are going DIGITAL.
We will host a full week of virtual events including speakers, musicians, celebrity chef competitions AND THIS:
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
A virtual marathon where you can pick any distance (or activity) you are comfortable with, collect donations and get it done whenever and however you like (run, walk, bike, sit-in, skip, moonwalk, dance). No matter where you are in our community, let us know that you’re participating from October 6th-12th by tagging #foodforthoughtboq
100% of proceeds from FFT will go to The Enrichment Centre for Mental Health’s in support of suicide prevention and bereavement programs.
